Leading online electricals retailer, AO, has partnered with Instep – a training company based in the UK – to launch the AO Warehouse Academy, a new initiative that is aimed at people looking for a new challenge and a chance to build a successful career.
Run at AO’s large logistics operation in Crewe, the AO Academy will give applicants the opportunity to develop new skills as well as re-train and upskill. Participants who successfully complete the course will achieve a Level 2 certificate in Warehousing & Storage.
Additionally, as part of the programme, they will complete a work trial at AO and they will be guaranteed a working interview at the end of their training; providing an opportunity to become a permanent member of the team.
Since the scheme launched four months ago, 75% of participants have successfully started work on a permanent contract with AO, following completion of the course. Those who do successfully start work are also supported with a progression plan, giving them the opportunity to gain further qualifications and career progression.
