Our development programmes help in-house trainers become much more effective.
There are sometimes knowledge areas of your business – such as technical product information – that your staff know better than anyone, so it makes sense to develop your own in-house trainers. Instep provide a number of dynamic Trainer Training programmes to make this happen.
Our programmes range from instructional training techniques for shop floor trainers to five-day accredited programmes for more formal training delivery. In every case, we guide your trainers through a process of using their best skills to deliver a curriculum based on their expert knowledge.
Perhaps you need help designing your existing training or presentation materials? Our people know how to create an engaging learning experience that achieves your learning objectives in a focused and productive way. This often means you can deliver your programmes in less time and make substantial savings in the process.
Typical Trainer Training programmes Include:
- Identifying and overcome barriers to learning
- Following a structured process to prepare and deliver training
- Setting SMART learning objectives and planning training sessions
- Using appropriate communication styles when training
- Practical techniques for motivating learners and dealing with challenging behaviour
- Using a range of techniques for checking learners' understanding and giving effective feedback

Training trainers at Keele University [Hover over to pause]
The University identified a need to improve the understanding of Equality and Diversity issues across the commercial Directorate to improve services to customers and to contribute to an environment where difference and diversity are respected. Line Managers were developed to deliver this learning to their teams. Instep designed 4-5 hours’ worth of material to provide the managers with flexibility to use a range of activities and information in short 2-3 hour sessions. The Line Managers attended a two-day programme to help them to understand the materials and core messages plus develop their training skills. An evaluation session was held after two months to check on progress and experiences. This programme was a finalist for a regional Training Award.
