All of our Leadership and Management Development starts by focusing on the business outcomes that your organisation and the participants need to achieve.
We fully support the participants and their line managers as they journey through the development, to ensure that the skills and behaviour learnt is transferred back into the workplace.

The Benefits of Our Approach
The Benefits of Our Approach
- The practical, fun and relaxed delivery approach used by Instep Trainers gives learners tools and techniques that can be used back in the workplace, enabling participants to easily transfer their learning.
- Our trainers combine subject matter expertise and accelerated learning training skills with their knowledge and experience of working within the sector
- All Leadership and Management programmes are designed so that they are ‘time efficient’ and respect the workload of participants to ensure they do not spend excessive time away from the workplace in the learning environment.
- We replicate the fast pace of the sector within any training event we deliver, ensuring participants are motivated and challenged via a wide range of stimulating activities
- The use of bespoke case study material used throughout the programmes will ensure participants see how the content relates directly to their role and work environment
- Pre-work issued to all participants will develop and improve their motivation to transfer, ensuring they arrive in a state of curiosity ready to learn (e.g. completion of self-assessment questionnaires).
- The agreement and use of ‘Measurable Outcomes’ focuses the minds of the participants and informs them of the practical differences expected of them back in the workplace. The achievement of these outcomes acts as a major motivator to participants and proves to all how they are improving practically as a result of attending the programme.
- Briefing and review meetings with line managers supports the participants’ transfer of learning in the workplace, through transfer motivation with the involvement of line managers and transfer environment with post learning evaluation.
- Any programme delivered focuses on the achievement of results that will give noticeable return on investment.
- The workshop booklets (‘Essence of…’) support the learning transfer process and give participants material they can refer back to in the future as and when required. They also act as reference checks and a self-assessment process to measure their progress throughout the programme.

Developing Leadership at CFS Management Ltd [Hover over to pause]
The brief was to design a Manager’s Toolkit for over 1,000 managers across the organisation. In order to diagnose the specific needs of the managers, an Instep induction period was scheduled to enable the project team to spend time researching the organisation to understand its culture, values, business challenges and what the current level of skill and capabilities were across the management community. It was also an opportunity to identify our client’s outcomes and success measures (ROI). Once this information had been gathered, we were able to start work on the technical design of the project, based on our findings, which indicated that the toolkit needed to be a 4 module programme. The team presented its first draft for the toolkit to the programme sponsor at a half-way point in the design, and were told we had exceeded expectations. Stage 3 of the project was to involve the line managers through briefings in order to ensure they had an understanding of how important their roles were in the transfer of learning, and ensuring that they were creating opportunities for their team to embed their learning. Stage 4 involved the delivery which we were asked to do as the design work had been so successful. This involved an intensive two-week pilot programme which we used to test the design with selected delegates. Final amends were then made on the toolkit before large scale rollout.
Developing Leadership at Warburtons [Hover over to pause]
In August 2010 we were the successful tender applicants to deliver two Management Development programmes for Warburtons; the ‘Acquire’ programme is for first time people managers, new starters or line managers who have had no previous training. It aims to give them the core skills to lead teams with skill and confidence. This is an eight-day, four module programme delivered over a four month period. The ‘Inspire’ programme, for existing managers, aims to get managers to inspire teams and all those around them through visible leadership. This programme has a core two-day module with five optional skills development sessions available.
