Instep’s latest L&D Forum is a major success!

Wed, November 23, 2011

There was much to talk about on Friday 18th November when 33 of Instep's customers, from 30 different companies, spent half a day together at Cranage Hall discussing how to Measure the Return on Investment of Management Development.

Representatives from United Utilities RWE npower, Warburton's, Cheshire West Council and 2 Sisters Food Group were among those joining the Instep team at their latest Forum. Following the signature Instep approach, the session was highly interactive and the audience were guided through real case studies and given practical tools that are recommended to help prove return on investment. Instep revealed the latest in a series of interventions they have designed to improve the all-important transfer of learning. The layered confirmation tool is easy for line managers to use and is already reaping real rewards for Instep clients.

The session was closed by Dave Parry, Head of Learning and Development from Muller Dairy. Muller has worked in partnership with Instep for over four years to develop line management skills in the business. Dave described the practical solutions they build into the programme to help achieve results, highlighting the importance of senior team commitment and on-going Line Management support to promote transfer of learning.

Instep MD, Rob Johnson, commented, "This proved to be another big success for Instep. It was great to see so many Instep customers networking and sharing best practice. We are passionate about helping our customers acheive Return on Investment when developing their staff and supporting learners to transfer their learning into the workplace. This was a great opportunity to share practical ways in which this can be done. A number of attendees have already responded by thanking us for the session and more importantly, explaining the real improvements they are putting into practice in the workplace"

Here are just some of the great comments received on the day.

'I got a great deal from this Forum and I have lots of ideas to put into practise' - Debbie Hatton, TEVA

'After attending the Forum I am confident our approach to measuring ROI will change for the better' - Large Pharmaceutical company

'We already do some really great things to improve the transfer of learning, however, I still got lots of great ideas that I can immediately implement. I think the layered confirmation tool will make a huge impact' - PLC Food Manufacturer
